X's and O's

Hey fellow students... who wants to play x's and o's? If you have a good way to make this happen then please do. I thought we could just photo-shop the next picture, but is there a better way???

Zach changes the game to x's and bear heads

berny enters
"hey guys, wassa?"

next move red x

Zach uses the A&W Bear to save the day from The League of Evil X's (see what I did there?)

Also, A&W onion rings are amazing and vastly underrated.

Awwwee SHIT!!! Look what just got posted. THAT'S RIGHT!!! Vin Diesel. Most famously known for his role in... yup, TRIPLE X. That means one post and he counts as three x's. X'S WIN. Nice try bears. Sincerely, Jason.

Hold up, smart-ass. Zach calls foul. Let's take this into perspective. Say that you take out Vin Diesel's head, and replace it with what he is meant to symbolize (XXX). That leaves you with three x's in that space. However, you DO NOT WIN BECAUSE those three x's simply occupy one space, making them equivalent to A SINGLE X in that space! But you require three x's IN ADJACENT SPACES which form a row to win the game, not simply three x's in one space! That's like me stuffing three bear heads into one space and saying I win. It doesn't work that way! Pardon my french, but what you have done sir, is pure POPPYCOCK.

berny: i have to agree about the level of poppycock.

Jason - Ok. Fine. If you're not going to accept my brilliant idea of posting Vin Diesel to win, then that's your call. He is only occupying one space so you're right. I'll allow it. But I still have to point out the reason bears lose anyway. You see, bears get disqualified because early in the game they went twice in a row. A normal game of X's and O's switches turns between each player, but this game clearly proceeded as follows: X, Bear head, Bear head, X, Bear head, Vin Diesel. There is no reason Bears should have gone twice in a row. Thats cheating, and pardon my french, but cheating is pure POPPYCOCK. Logic FTW. Maybe we should restart with a fair game?

If we restart, I vote x's be changed to Jesus heads. But why can't we all agree that bear heads are the best and that everyone* is a winner?

A bunch of links to a bunch of stuffs

I feel like it is absolutely necessary for me to post a link to this video of a cat eating fish with hands because I found it most entertaining:

also, if you saw that wonderous After Effects animation I made in class the other day, well... I put some credits on it and threw in some metal underneath it all, so if you wanna check that shit out again, here's the link:

speaking of metal, if you're into shred-tastic, super awesome progressive metal (aka you like the band Protest The Hero), you should definitely check out their new tune C'est La Vie if you have not:

definitely some good solid riffing going on up in this bitch^

tis all for now

Desktop Decorating: Cropping and Resizing in Photoshop

If you're like me, you've decorated the desktop of your personal computer with wallpaper from your favorite films. However, with numerous aspect ratios available, chances are you may never find one that matches your own computer's screen size.

With programs like Adobe Photoshop, you can easily adjust images you find online to fit perfectly on your desktop.

Take this image from Black Swan, for example:

Originally sized at 1024x768 pixels,
this image is not equivalent to my desktop size, 1366x768 pixels. So, a simple size readjustment won't work. And just using the image as is will either end up like this... (notice how the image is squeezed):

...Or this
(notice how the image has been cropped and inserted a second time):

To get the image the way you want, perfectly centered and justified, you'll need to do the following, preferably in Adobe Photoshop:

1) Save your image from the web to your computer (somewhere where you'll easily be able to find it, i.e. the desktop?).

2) In Photoshop, select File>Open... and select the saved image.

3) Select Image>Image Size... (Image Size may be under Image>Resize in older versions). In the pop-up window, make sure that "pixels" are the selected "width" and "height" measurements, and that "constrain proportions" is also checked at the bottom of the window.

4) In the "width" box, change the number to match the width size of your own computer's screen size (in this case, 1366; the height box should now read 1025). Select OK.

5) This next part will involve a little trial-and-error. First, select the crop tool from your selection bar. Right now, the height of your image is too large. We need to get 1025 pixels down to 768 (in this example). So bits of the top and/or bottom of the image will have to go. Personally, if I had to choose something from this image to cut out, I'd go with the bottom. The crown looks pretty nice at the top, but there is a lot of neck and shoulders which can go. So with the crop tool, start at the top left of the image and drag all the way to the right and then down, making sure to leave some of the bottom out. You'll probably need to leave out more than you think.

6) After a portion of this image is selected, hit Enter and the image should now be cropped. Go back into your Imageabove
768, then you need to go back and repeat Step 5, cropping a little more of the image out. If the value is below 768, then you need to undo your last crop (Control+Z) and try again, cropping a little less of your image out.

*Note: The value doesn't have to match exactly. 10 pixels above or below the intended value will work just fine. Also, if you're having trouble getting close, zooming into the image will make it easier to be more precise with your cropping.

7. Once you have your image cropped to your liking, save it as a .JPG, right click on the new .JPG image and set it as your desktop background. Voila! You should have a perfectly justified and centered desktop wallpaper.

Changin' things

I did it. Just so ya'll know :P

So, this is a blog post

I am sort of at a loss as to what to post about on this blog. When one is asked to post something to a collaborative site, there may be expectations set in place to live up to the other people who post as well. Will you discover something worthwhile to post online? Or will you have some interesting fact of your own to share that could perhaps enlighten the rest of the group? Most importantly, will your post be enjoyed by not only your fellow collaborators, but the general public who may stumble upon your work?

You hope that everyone will enjoy it, but what about those who dislike it? Those people may never come back to the site, having seen your post, but they may not have taken a gander at the other posts by the others, which they may have found most entertaining. Those posts may have gotten you followers, but no! They saw your post, drew a quick conclusion, and now they will never come back. EVER. How does this make you feel? Knowing that you just screwed it up for everyone else with that one stupid post that no one other than yourself enjoyed because you're the only one on the face of this godforsaken planet that finds it funny? HOW DOES IT MAKE YOU FEEL!

...just kidding, who gives a fuck. Here's a link to a Pink Floyd song!
